Capri's Big Girl room

When we first designed Capri’s nursery a few years ago, I loved it…and then got over it quickly. The wallpaper felt too busy and while it was cute at first, it didn’t feel like the rest of our house, or even like Capri.

We ended up upgrading things shortly after and settled on a more neutral, semi-boho, playful vibe. She LOVES it and actually hasn’t let me change anything in years at this point. A new room should be interesting when we move to San Diego. Any tips?!

DETAILS OF CAPRI’S BIG GIRL ROOM

CRIB: Carpi’s is the Babyletto Gelato Crib but it looks like the exact style is sold out. Crate & Barrel has this Babyletto crib that’s very similar.

CRIB SHEETS: From Spearmint Baby. I love everything they do.

CHAIR: We wanted something oversized, comfortable, and that could grow with Capri and her room style. The Sixpenny ‘Neva’ Chair is pricey but worth every f*cking penny! It comfortably fits an adult and child so it’s perfect for reading or cuddles. Not to mention it’s beautiful.

BLANKET: We read with her Barefoot Dreams blanket every night and I’m not mad at it.

RUG: Finding a rug that I didn’t hate was one of the hardest parts of decorating her big girl room. I’m not a kid’s rug person and I wasn’t about to go rainbow in here. This rug felt playful but like it flowed with the rest of our house.

DRESSER + KNOBS: I actually really like this IKEA dresser and have no regrets about it. Pro tip: Switch out the knobs on any dresser to make it feel more expensive. I used these.

MIRROR: It looks like the mirror from World Market is no longer available but it’s obviously an easy style to find. Linking some other options that would have worked:

ART: Sourced it all from Etsy, one of my favorite spots to find unique kid’s art that isn’t basic.

FRAMES: I think most are from Michael’s and Amazon. I don’t spend too much money on frames like this because you can find good quality for less.

NEON SIGN: We got this custom made from Howdy Dudey. It’s cute but we honestly don’t use it too much.

BOOKCASES, CUBBIES + BASKETS: All from Target.

SHERPA CHAIR: Capri used this sherpa Pottery Barn chair a ton when she was younger but has sort of grown out of it now that we have the Sixpenny chair.

SHADE: We used Home Depot.

BUMPERS: From Carousel.

DREAMCATCHER: We got this at a small boutique on Maui so I don’t have a link. Etsy probably has similar cute options.

MOBILE: Old from Etsy.
