I consider myself an ally to all races. I didn’t understand until now that that is not enough. I want change for our black community and it has to start by acknowledging that there is a problem. I acknowledge there is a problem.

I’ll admit that I don’t know how to navigate - I don’t want to say or do the wrong thing. Without meaning to be offensive, I am. I’m trying my best to do my part, spread awareness, make educated choices, and share that with my community.

As I learn and do more I want to share that with you guys, too. For now, what I know to do is this and I encourage you to do the same:

+ donate to LDF to support the fight for racial justice
+ share factual information
+ be open minded
+ have conversations with your loved ones

I know this won’t happen overnight, but I am hopeful we will get there.
