Let’s Talk Clean Beauty

‘Clean beauty’ was definitely a buzzword for 2019 and I’m not mad at it. Obviously I’m not some clean beauty expert but I’m happy to start incorporating more non-toxic items into my routine. The problem with a lot of clean beauty in the past…is that it sucked. Or it didn’t live up to the competitors who weren’t in the clean space. And maybe that’s vain, but I want my beauty products to work and to last – especially if I spent an hour putting that shit on!

One of the brands changing the reputation of the clean beauty business is Honest Beauty. Founded by everyone’s girl crush, Jessica Alba, she started The Honest Company initially as a way to create safe products for babies. I’ve used a ton of Honest’s products on Capri, who I’m MUCH more strict about in terms of chemicals and what I put on her body. We love everything from the brand, so it’s no surprise that I’m equally as obsessed with their beauty line.

If you’re not on the clean beauty train yet because you’re stressed that the products aren’t as good, rest assured that I’m VERY picky with what I keep around. The quality is insane, the products last on your face, and the packaging is gorg (which you know I’m insane about). I’m personally most in love with their mascara/primer situation, liquid lipstick and liquid eyeliner for my recent cat-eye addiction. Their skincare products are also incredible and thoughtfully priced. Above all, I’m happy to be able to support Capri’s future beauty obsession with safer products.
