5 Face Mists I Love

I must admit, when it comes to face sprays and mists I have a type. I love rose-scented anything but it has to be light, natural, and refreshing. Not super fake smelling, you know I mean? I also happen to gravitate towards pink-toned products, but that’s just a branding thing that I can’t help. I’ve acquired a plethora of facial sprays at this point and honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with any of them. As long as it’s not heavy, colored, super perfume-y, and has good ingredients I’m open to trying any and all. I personally love too many to list but here’s my current favorites that are at the top of my shelf. I tend to rotate products into this space so I remember to use them and then eventually it becomes second nature and it can move into a more obscure place.

When & Why To Use Facial Sprays

I’ve come to learn that a common misunderstanding is when to use certain products. The order of skincare can get confusing so I’m actually working on a post that might help you. But the rule of thumb is lightest to heaviest. So keeping that in mind, you should start your routine with a spray on clean skin before anything else. Don’t be shy, either, spray that shit on thick and evenly. I like to use sprays as a toner before applying any other skincare. Certain sprays mix well with your next product (serums, oils, moisturizers, etc.) to help the absorption, too. Overall I find sprays to be a nice way to refresh your skin, hydrate, and prep it for step 2 of your routine. Some sprays can also be used a makeup primer or setting spray. Another way to use a face spray is after a face mask. Rinse your face, pat mostly dry and then spray spray spray!

Facial Sprays I’m Loving Right Now

Boscia Rosewater Mist. Very light / misty and smells exactly as described. Has a nice refreshing finish on the skin. I use this in the morning after I’ve rinsed my face with water, BEFORE I use serums and moisturizers. It’s also nice to spray this on clean skin throughout the day for a refresh.

Georgette Klinger Gardenia Facial Mist. I was hooked the second I saw the word gardenia. It’s not everyday you get products using this scent and growing up in Hawaii has made me an avid gardenia lover. This stuff is a little heavier so you don’t need as much as other sprays, which is nice because it will definitely last you longer. I have this on my desk because I want easy access to spraying it on all day long. Bonus: it’s super reasonably priced at $12!

Honest Beauty Elevated Hydration Mist. I received this mist at the Honest event and so glad I got my hands on it. I spray this before and after makeup to help my skin glow and for extra hydration. It’s super light–texture and scent–but very effective.

Rodial Dragon’s Blood Essence Mist. This is one of those mists that helps your other products absorb better. I don’t use this one everyday, but on days my skin needs extra TLC it’s definitely step one.

Kopari Coconut Rose Toner. Is it weird that I want to drink this stuff?? It smells like the most thirst-quenching liquid ever and seriously hydrates the face. This has been in my routine for a long time now and even as I try new products I always come back to this one. It’s natural, light, and as I said, smells amazing.

-Mario Badescu Facial Spray. Everyone raves about this one so I got the rosewater and cucumber one. I’m partial to the rosewater (told you, I have a type!) and it’s currently in my hospital bag since I fully plan to spritz my face and roll while in labor. Not boujee at all, right?

-Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Spray. Been using this one for years, too. It’s kind of the OG of my face sprays since I’m pretty sure it’s the first one I ever tried. I love that it’s all natural and light so you can really apply it anytime.
