Every now and then it’s good to switch things up in your skincare routine. Just like when you work out your body, if you’re doing the same things over and over your muscles become immune to the exercises and you stop seeing results. The same goes for your skin (& hair). Of course, if you have sensitive skin it can be a little tricky to figure out which products will work for you, but I’m a big believer in hitting a reset button on skincare when it’s time. With my pregnancy I’ve seen so many changes in my skin that I’ve been looking for a switch up that would hopefully kickstart my skin’s resilience. I wasn’t really expecting anything to happen overnight (literally), but now we have to talk about the L’Occitane Immortelle Overnight Reset oil-in-serum.
You all know I’m a HUGE fan of night oils for the face–I’ve been using them for years and truly believe they are the secret to youthful-looking skin, as staying hydrated (specifically “oily”) is the way to avoid wrinkles and age gracefully. L’Occitane created an oil-in-serum that has the ability to fight outside environmental aggressors that strip your skin’s glow *gasp* in just one application. You’ll see improved results in just one night, and then the transformation occurs
over 28 days.
My nighttime routine always begins with me taking off my makeup, but I’ve fully converted to oil cleansers for that. It’s less harsh than makeup “remover” and restores your skin’s moisture at the same time. If you prefer a more squeaky clean feel you can use cleansing water right after. L’Occitane has an oil cleanser and cleansing water that are both very gentle but effective on the skin. I follow this up with the Reset oil-in-serum and I’m done.
I’m looking forward to seeing how these products work together with my skin after I’ve had the baby (due next week!!!), as I imagine everything will just be that much more effective on my skin. My skin is currently a little difficult, but even so these products have helped brighten and restore the glow.
