Baby Registry List

I was able to put this list together using recommendations from friends who have recently had babies. While Paul & I obviously both have parents who have been through this, it seems like we have come a loooooong way since the 80’s and today there are endless things available for parents. I honestly feel like some stuff is a trap / marketing scam, so it was important for me to talk to people who are like-minded when it comes to parenting styles (at least from I what think I’ll be like) to determine what I needed and what I didn’t. To give you an example, I was told to get the Boppy from multiple people, but then my hairdresser, who recently had her first baby, told me that the Boppy didn’t support her back and while she breastfed she would be hunched down. Instead, she now uses My Breast Friend pillow that clips onto your back, offering more posture support and also allowing the baby to nurse without that painful hunch. We actually received the Boppy as a gift so we will use that for when Paul or others want to feed her.

Of course it will take lots of trial and error to determine what works for us / our baby, but I feel pretty good about this list. To be totally honest, I didn’t register for everything on this list–I bought a lot of it myself–because I wanted to 1) get started on the nursery so I wasn’t waiting until now to buy furniture, and 2) some items are pricey so I felt more comfortable purchasing them myself. However, this is a pretty good list to get you started based on my conversations and books I’ve read so hopefully I’m not missing anything too critical.

I’ve included all the products listed here in the Shop The Post feature so be sure to scroll through there if you want to see the items I went with. Also, let me know if you guys have any thoughts on my list–additions, experiences with these products, etc. I am definitely open to hearing feedback!
