The holidays are typically the only time I want to drink anything hot (temperature hot, not spicy), but I’m not a huge fan of traditional anything, really. So a hot toddy, apple cider, or even regular hot chocolate doesn’t really interest me. BUT, when you combine hot chocolate, some alcohol, a hefty serving of marshmallows, AND some nutmeg you can keep them coming! I promise I’m not an alcoholic, guys, I just really really love me a good cocktail…or 3.
Ok, ok, all joking aside, I invented this heavenly combo last week since Paul and I don’t have a fireplace. Huh? We have an outdoor fire-pit but it’s been rather chilly lately so when we sit outside we need extra heat. So I spiked our hot chocolate so we could warm our bellies. Makes sense, right?
Since we are “missing” the holidays (we will be traveling) I’m trying to get as much holiday cheer as possible by spending down-time in my living room wrapping gifts, sipping my secret drink, and enjoying quality time with my pups. Because I’m going to miss them endlessly while on vacation. Can dogs come to Fiji?
You guys must try my yummy recipe, it’s seriously as good as it sounds (and looks!). Full breakdown below.
NAUGHTY HOT CHOCOLATE:
- 1 packet of Starbucks hot chocolate (my preference, but any brand will work)
- Hot milk (just follow the directions on your packet)
- 1 shot of Baileys (or make it a double!)
- A huge handful of mini marshmallows
- Combine the chocolate, milk, baileys in a cute mug.
- Top with a mountain of marshmallows.
- Sprinkle with nutmeg,
- Get holiday wasted!
