A few weeks ago (3 weeks, to be exact) I went to the Lana Del Rey concert and I have a not so proud story to share. However, because I learned my lesson and this incredible cure I will share. Just don’t judge me…!
I have now seen LDR live 3 times and each time I have consumed an abnormal amount of wine on my own. She really makes me feel high on life, and apparently invincible, since 1-2 bottles of wine seem to go down just fine. That is, until the concert is over and suddenly I’m not feeling too hot anymore. This last concert I definitely overdid my consumption and I learned my lesson big time.
After being bed-ridden for 24 hours and then not feeling normal the whole rest of the week I decided it was time for a detox until Greece. Obviously when overseas (on vacation and getting married) not drinking wine is simply not an option, but I did give my body a nice 3 week break. I can’t lie, last weekend I had some rosé with my girlfriend poolside, but remained equally hydrated by chugging water. And this past weekend was my dad’s birthday and I enjoyed a nice crisp glass of white wine. But honestly, that concert (consumption) kind of scared me. In a good way. It just reminded me to slooooooow down. Not that I’m some crazy alcoholic but I do love my wine.
Now on to the real reason you are reading this post. The natural hangover cure I discovered when I was too nauseous to eat or drink anything. Even water made me queezy. Watermelon juice with mint and lime. As we all know, watermelon is primarily water, which is the key to beating a hangover–hydration. Mint–menthol–helps with the nausea. And the lime shocks your senses with a jolt of citrus to help rejuvenate your system. Overall this yummy concoction will work wonders on your body and help speed up that bed-ridden ridiculousness.
What You Need:
- Crushed ice
- Watermelon chunks
- Mint, ripped off the stem
- 1 lime, juiced
