My gratitude sometimes escapes me when caught up in “life.” Whether it’s working really hard to reach my goals, plan my wedding, spend more quality time with the people who mean the most to me, or simply just doing day-to-day things, I often need to step back and reflect. Someone reminded me today that even if we can’t buy the houses we desperately want, make enough money, or have a never-ending list of complaints about whatever, we are so lucky. Lucky to be loved by anyone, lucky to have our dogs (who love us unconditionally), lucky to be healthy, lucky to be living the life we live. Because along the road to living this life, many people spent time and energy to carve out something special for us…to make sure our life turned out the way it did.
Sometimes even updating my blog is too much for me. I’m easily overwhelmed and the thought of adding one more task to my always-growing to-do list is just unbearable. But, the second I get to this exact space I’m typing in now something is different. It is not work, it is not a chore, it is therapy. A place for me to unwind mentally and emotionally. Reading your comments (wherever you choose to follow my journey) reminds me that there are people all over the world who may feel the same way and that is all I need to keep me going. Knowing that someone somewhere has identified with my story is the most gratifying feeling, and for that I thank each and every one of you who have read my blog. Whether you follow along daily or just every now and again, I am extremely grateful for your support and hope you feel open enough to share your life stories with me.
