You may have already guessed this, but I’m a total sucker for all those cheesy home decor magazines, including Good Housekeeping. The title of the magazine never made much sense to me growing up when I saw them arrive in the mail (obviously picked up my magazine obsession from my mother), but now it all makes perfect sense. Good housekeeping (not just the magazine) is the way you present your home to yourself and to others. Your home is a representation of you, which is why it is so important to take pride in your home and pay attention to the detail.
The advice above may seem obvious, but I’m a firm believer in small touches that make a big statement. My fiancé finds my expensive candle habit outrageous, but to me the scent of our home resonates with some of my favorite places in Paris (where a lot of my favorite candle brands are poured). Smell, soft textures, pops of color, fresh flowers…these are all things that make my home mine. What do you feel makes your home your home?
