SKINNY SNACK: BELLY BUSTING GREEN JUICE - Sivan
Drinks
Recipes

This week I busted out my juicer from hibernation and got to work. It has been quite some time since my good ole days of making fresh juice each morning, and instead I’ve been spending $6-$12 (yes, the Beverly Hills Hotel charges $12 for Pressed Juice!!!) on juices, practically throwing away my money. My tolerance for gross drinks has definitely gone up and with that in mind, I did my homework to find the best belly busting juice that is pretty damn gross but totally tolerable.

Sidenote: I drink lemon, ginger, and apple juice on a regular basis for fun. So, keep that in mind when trying to gauge what I mean by “gross.”

This juice is heavy on the greens, which we all know is necessary to our health, but also has key characteristics that break down the tough fat in our bellies that never seems to want to leave even with the most regimented work-out schedule. Nope, not bitter or upset about that at all…

Here’s what you need. These quantities will yield juice for 2 people. Like, 2 full glasses:

  • 3-4 “sticks,” “strands” (?)  of kale
  • 10 strands of spinach
  • 4-5 stalks of celery
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 full cucumber
  • 3-4 strands of cilantro
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 2″ of ginger
  • A generous amount of mint

Depending on your juicer you may need to cut these into smaller pieces, however, mine is pretty tough. I’ve listed some super inexpensive juicers below if you are just starting out and want to give it a try before seriously committing (taste-wise & money-wise). Cheers!
