A few months back I purchased a pair of vegan leather pants from BLANKNYC. After one wear the knees had ripped and they (BLANK) kindly replaced them with a brand new pair. It seemed the new pair were somehow more durable until one night Paul and I hit a cool hidden gem in the city called Pour Vous for a friend’s birthday. The place served “vintage” cocktails, had a burlesque performance, housed an SF-style trolley for the smoking area, and had a seriously great DJ. Towards the end of the night, after a few drinks (Zou Bisou to be exact) had been consumed, a song came on that caused me to fling my hand in the air and lose a real vintage ring that belongs to my mother. I instantly fell to my knees in the acceptably crowded bar to scrounge for my chunky gold ring as panic raised inside and felt an insurmountable relief when Paul picked it up with a mere bend in his step. Upon standing, and feeling overwhelmed with the pity applause that followed (we found the ring!!!), I was quickly brought back to reality as I realized my leather knees were BOTH slit! It was time to go home.
Today I still parade around town in my slit pants, because you know what?, I don’t care!
