10 FEEL GOOD movies

Over the “winter break” I watched a few movies that reminded me of an entire genre I’ve been ignoring for years thanks to Paul always wanting to watch “deep” movies and shows. Don’t get me wrong, we have tons of TV shows we watch together that I’m addicted to, but every now and then it’s nice to watch something light that leaves you feeling good at the end. Some of these movies I hadn’t watched since I was a kid so it’s basically like watching a whole new movie (now that I actually understand the jokes). If you’re sick in bed, feeling down, or just need something fun to watch, I recommend one of the following movies.

1. Something’s Gotta Give – Jack Nicholson & Diane Keaton. Such a classic! Not only is it hilarious, I’m obsessed with the Hamptons house in this movie. So many life goals!

2. Father Of The Bride – Growing up I thought Steve Martin was THE funniest man alive because of this movie. Now that I think about it, I also love the house in this movie! So cookie cutter but beautiful.

3. Because I Said So – Lorelei from Gilmore Girls sold me on this one. But the overall storyline is super cute and girly. I especially loved it since I have 2 sisters.

4. What Women Want – Mel Gibson kills it in this movie! So incredibly hilarious, and his love interest (Helen Hunt) is epic. I’m also really into NYC chick flicks.

5. The Wedding Date – Who doesn’t love Debra Messing? She just has that BFF quality about her. This movie is hysterical but also really romantic.

6. First Wives Club – Goldie Hawn was my favorite in this movie. So glamorous & cool. My favorite scene is still the end when they all sing “You Don’t Own Me.”

7. The Other Women – I’m pretty much obsessed with any Cameron Diaz movie, but this one is my favorite. I love the style, decor, lifestyle, characters, & cast. Plus, I almost peed my pants on a plane watching it.

8. It’s Complicated – Similar vibe to Something’s Gotta Give but in Santa Barbara and with Meryl Streep & Alec Baldwin. Such a feel good movie!

9. Serendipity – I forgot how cheesy this movie is, and how many things just don’t make sense! Can someone tell me why they are never wearing coats when it’s snowing outside?! But aside from those details, the story is silly and heartwarming.

10. Mamma Mia – LOVE this movie. It was actually the theme behind my wedding. I grew up listening to ABBA so the soundtrack was obviously super nostalgic for me, but the setting and story is hard to not love.

Looking at this list, I clearly have a thing for Diane Keaton. And a thing for movies about older people LOL. Any others I should know about that I’m missing from the list?
