MY RADIANCE FACIAL AT CAUDALIE

A few weeks ago I had what is called the Vinoperfect Radiance Facial at the Caudalie boutique spa on Abbot Kinney. I left a new person, quite literally, as my face was stripped of all the excess grime, leaving me one layer of skin less. It felt unbelievable. My skin was glowing despite the extractions and scrubbing, which is something I’ve never experienced with any facial in the past. In fact, I pretty much avoid facials (haven’t had one in years) because I usually have to go into hiding for a week before my skin is acceptable for the public. I’m not dramatic at all…But you guys, I didn’t have to wear highlighter for days after the facial because my skin glowed THAT much. Radiant, if you will.

But honestly, it was hands-down the best facial I’ve ever had! Between the absolute relaxation and massaging involved, there were hot & cold stones, and every product applied smelled like heaven. You might find this weird, but when I was in Positano there was a smell in the town (not pizza, I swear) that wafted everywhere I went. It is a distinct smell that I wish I could bottle up and make into a perfume. I kid you not, these products smell like Positano! I have a crazy sensitive nose and when I got a whiff of the Caudalie products for the first time I nearly fell over with nostalgia. I’m sure by now you’re convinced I’m crazy but seriously, the smell is insane.

Okay, fabulous aromas aside, let’s talk about how the products are all natural (made from grapes). I’m all about skincare and a complicated regiment, but I never really made an effort to go all-natural. After my facial Olga (my facialist) showed me all the products she recommends for my skin and I decided to gradually incorporate certain ones into my everyday routine. It’s hard to switch from products that I’ve been using for years, but my skin seems to truly glow without going through the initial irritation I typically see when trying new products (thanks to the all-natural ingredients). I can usually tell after a few tries if it’s a product that will stick around and make the cut, and so far I’m very happy with my change up.

Caudalie Exfoliator
TIPS & PRODUCTS I LOVE FROM CAUDALIE:

-Exfoliate twice per week. I’ll be totally honest, I hadn’t exfoliated in years because I was scared to scrape away my tan. Dead serious. But after feeling how good my skin felt post-exfoliation I’m hooked. Plus, knowing all the gunk that has built up from not exfoliating for so long really grossed me out. I now use the Caudalie Deep Cleansing Exfoliator twice a week.

-Eye cream isn’t just for the eyes. Olga told me that eye cream should be rubbed around the eyes (obviously) but also around the mouth. The skin around the mouth is thin just like around the eyes and so it needs love, too. I guess I did kind of neglect that area…until now. I use the Caudalie Energizing & Smoothing Eye Cream every night.

-Hydration is key. Through drinking tons of water and also by moisturizing your skin regularly. Nothing dulls your complexion more than dehydration and it all begins from within, but a product never hurt, either. I’m loving the Caudalie 3-in-1 Moisturizer (Positano vibes!) morning and night.

-Beauty Elixirs are for queens. And so naturally I need one. Kidding, kind of! The Caudalie Beauty Elixir is inspired by the “elixir of youth” used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, which sounds like something I can definitely get behind. It’s extremely refreshing and you all know how much I love sprays. This one is limited edition so make sure to snag one stat before they’re all gone.

Now, who is running to make an appointment at the Caudalie spa?! I’ll be scheduling regular facials from now on.
